The Ethiopian Environmental Health Professionals Association has made a face-to-face discussion with EFDA’s higher officials. The agenda for the discussion were 1) to discuss the areas where EEHPA can assist and engage with EFDA. 2) The status of our professionals’ complaints due to structural ignorance.
Yesterday, on September 4, 2015, EC, the EEPA team (EEHPA board members and president, Addis Ababa EEHPA chapter focal, and from the universities) had a fruitful discussion with EFDA higher officials (EFDA Director, EFDA Vice Director, Human Resource Director, and Food Directorate Director).
After the EEHPA team briefing on the EEHPA activities and agendas for the discussion, EFDA higher officials raised the possibility of cooperating and working together on professional capacity development (CPD), food industry capacity development, manuals, guidelines, proclamation developments, and others. They have confirmed to us that they have made corrections to the newly developed structure, which is currently being sent to the civil service commission.
Finally, we have agreed to work closely in the future by signing MOU and preparing action plans on areas of cooperation.
